Laid Finish A watermark finish providing a pattern that resembles impressions of a chain. This effect is produced during the papermaking process with a special roller that creates the pattern in the wet paper. This gives the appearance of translucent lines running horizontally and vertically across the paper, as well as an interesting tactile quality.
